Advanced search

If you are an experienced Internet user you can choose the "Advanced search" function.

The "Advanced search" function allows you to perform complex searches such as "and" or a phrase, "not" and many more.

Viewing documents

You can click on the selected title straight away OR you can get an even better idea of the results you have generated by selecting an option in "Expand results".

If you click on "short", the 5 words before the word you searched for, as well as the 5 words after the word you searched for, will appear. (Medium gives you 10 words and long gives you 25 words.)

This 'context search' will save a lot of time and help pinpoint the exact information you are looking for.

Alternatively, if you are sure the result is what you are looking for, click on the title and you will be taken straight to the document.

Once you are inside the document you can do many practical things to help you maximise the efficiency of your search. These options are found in the horizontal toolbar above the title of the document you have entered:

Click on "Next match" to go to the next successful keyword.

Click on "Prev match" to go back to successful keywords.

Click on "Next doc" to go to the next document or chapter.

Click on "Prev doc" to go to the previous document or chapter.

Click on "Clear highlights" if you do not want to see the successful keywords highlighted.

Click on "Source" to see a window showing you exactly where you are in the Library.

Click on "Sync content" and the left-hand navigation bar will open and show you where you are in the Library.
