Naidoo, Jayendra

Naidoo was born in1960. He is a trade unionist.

Naidoo was closely involved in the National Peace Accord of the early 1990s; served with the National Peace Secretariat (1991-1994); and, as fulltime negotiator for the Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU), was a key figure in the establishment of a national economic forum embracing government, business and labour.

In 1995 he was appointed executive director of the National Economic Development and Labour Council (NEDLAC), a consultative body designed to provide consensus on labour legislation.
