This resource is hosted by the Nelson Mandela Foundation, but was compiled and authored by Padraig O’Malley. It is the product of almost two decades of research and includes analyses, chronologies, historical documents, and interviews from the apartheid and post-apartheid eras.

Nzimande, Emmanuel Bonginkose (Blade)

Political activist, industrial psychologist, trade unionist, educationalist and politician. He was active in the Azanian Students" Organisation during the 1970s and in the underground operations of the SACP and ANC in the late 1980s. He was elected to parliament as an ANC MP in 1994 and was appointed chairman of the select committee on education.

In 1995 he was appointed deputy chairman of the SACP and currently holds the position of General Secretary of that organisation.
