South African Confederation Of Labour (SACOL)

Formed in 1956, Sacol represents a group of conservative white right-wing trade unions, of which the most important is the Mynwerkersunie. It supports job reservation, and is op-posed to the formation of mixed trade unions. Sacol has more than too 000 members. The general secretary is P Ungerer, and the president is G P Diedericks. Among the most important of the six affiliated trade unions in the group are:

SA Transport Services Employees' Union – general secretary: G J/ B Janse van Rensburg.
