Nokwe, Duma

He was the first African advocate of the Supreme Court of the Transvaal. He was active in the ANCYL at Fort Hare and then in the Transvaal. Nokwe left South Africa in 1963 and joined the ANC in exile. He was Secretary General until 1969 when ill-health forced him to resign the position. In 1975 he became Deputy Secretary General of the ANC and ANC Director of International Affairs.
