Sithole, Jabu

1949 -

Born in Lamontville, Natal, Sithole was educated at the University of Zululand, Fort Hart University and the University of the Witwatersrand. He joined the ANC in Lesotho in 1979 and returned to Natal where he became involved in community projects. He joined the UDF, but was then arrested in terms of the state of emergency and spent two years in prison from 1986 to1988. On his release he was recruited into Operation Vula and in 1990 was again arrested, but was later released when the charges were dropped.
