1906. Immigration Act

This "closed the Cape to Asian men over sixteen years of age from abroad and severely restricted their entry from other parts of South Africa" (Simons & Simons 1969: 70). See also the IMMIGRANTS RESTRICTION ACT of 1911, the IMMIGRATION ACT of 1913 and the IMMIGRANTS REGULATION AMENDMENT ACT of 1953.
