1937. Immigration Amendment Act

This amendment was passed "so as to allow migrant workers from areas north of latitude 22 degrees south [somewhat north of Windhoek] into the country provided they worked in the mines on terms apprved by the government" (Allen 1992: 232). See also the CAPE OF GOOD HOPE PUNISHMENT ACT of 1836.
