1949. South West Africa Affairs Amendment Act

This "called for six elected representatives in the House of Assembly and for four senators. Two of the senators were to be elected and two nominated, one of them on the basis of his special knowledge of native affairs. South West Africa was to retain its autonomy in financial affairs" (Riley 1991: 16). A further amendment was issued in 1969.
