Botha, Louis

In 1990 Colonel Louis Botha was with the District Commission of Police in Natal. He was a Security Branch policeman.

He grew up on a farm. He is married with two children.

Botha was involved in Inkathagate, being the 'money man' between the Nationalist government and Inkatha.

After that he re-located to Eastern Cape and became active in community policing.

On 13th May 1995 he was arrested on allegations of being involved in murder or conspiracy to commit murder in Natal relating to an event that occurred in KwaMakutha in 1987. (Also arrested were Magnus Malan and other Generals.)

He was suspended from the SAP until the conclusion of trial when he was officially reinstated. He then left the Police Force after 32 years service.
