September, Connie

Connie September was employed for 20 years at Rex Trueform in Cape Town, during which time she became a shop steward.  She was the first woman to be elected a COSATU national office bearer.

She is currently an MP and is the Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Water Affairs & Forestry.
