Bernstein, Hilda

1915 -

Bernstein, who was a member of the South African Labour Party League of Youth until 1940, joined the SACP and became a Johannesburg City Councillor from 1943 to 1946. She was also a founding member of FEDSAW. She went into exile in 1964 after the Rivonia trial but continued to be an active member of the ANC and the Anti-Apartheid movement in Britain.
