This resource is hosted by the Nelson Mandela Foundation, but was compiled and authored by Padraig O’Malley. It is the product of almost two decades of research and includes analyses, chronologies, historical documents, and interviews from the apartheid and post-apartheid eras.

Chikane, Frank

1951 -

Chikane became active with the South African Students Organization (SASO) while he was attending University. In 1987 he succeeded Beyers Naude as Secretary General of the South African Council of Churches. He joined the UDF in the early 1980s and became its Vice President. In 1997 he became a member of the NEC of the ANC. He is currently the Director General in the Office of the President.
